Cretzman Update Part – 2

God is at work! Late this evening, Lana had the privilege of speaking with her nurse at the hospital about the Lord. We are thrilled to see how God is using this event to bring people to the saving knowledge of Christ. Thus far, we have seen/heard of three souls that have trusted Him through this event. To God be the glory!

What a joy to see the response of God’s people and to see answers to prayers right before our very eyes. On behalf of the Cretzmans, they want to express their continued deepest gratitude for the love and prayers that have been shown. There have literally been thousands of emails, phone calls, personal visits, Facebook messages, Tweets, and website comments expressing your deep love and prayers for them. To this end, we are humbled and we say thank you.

Lana’s surgery went well. She is recovering nicely in a private room. The initial acknowledgement from the hospital was that she would probably be released late Saturday, especially considering that the funeral needed to take place by Monday/Tuesday. However, because of your faithful prayers, Lana is healing quite well and she may be released by Friday. Praise the Lord! Of course, there will be extensive rehabilitation to follow for several weeks and maybe months, but Lana is a strong we pray that her recovery would be speedy.

Today has been quiet a hectic and busy day. You cannot imagine the thought of having to prepare for the funeral arrangements for your precious little daughter. Today was a hard and challenging day, however, with God’s grace and strength, funeral arrangements are being made. God showed great favor! Your prayers are being heard. Pastor Bobby Roberson has offered Gospel Light Baptist Church facilities for visitation as well as the funeral itself. Also, there have been some burial land at a local cemetery that has been graciously donated to allow for the burial of precious Azlynn.

The family would like to make known the times for the funeral services of Azlynn Cretzman. The services will be on Monday, February 27th at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, North Carolina.

3 Million Dollar Building in Town of 6,500

Pastor Joe Kobernat

Meeting Pastors has been a great experience for our family. However, seeing a pastor’s work when we knew him before he became a pastor is both humbling & encouraging. We were privileged to spend a few days with Pastor & Mrs. Joe Kobernat of the First Baptist Church of Geneseo, Illinois. We have known their family for many years. In fact, the Kobernat’s were members of Berean Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois prior to accepting the pastorate in October of 1996. Susan had the privilege to learn from Pastor Kobernat when he taught at the Christian school. She, and many others, have often reminisced about his teaching at Berean and his heart for the students. Many young people who are now very successful had the privilege to learn from him.

Celebrating 25 Years of Ministry

Dr. Gene Wolfenbarger

For any pastor to be in one church pastoring for 25 years is an amazing milestone. This is true for Dr. and Mrs. Gene Wolfenbarger as they prepare to celebrate their 25th Anniversary of starting Joshua Baptist Church of Joshua/Burleson, Texas, this coming June 2011. What a testimony for Christ of faithfulness and longevity in ministry. Dr. Gene Wolfenbarger is 71 years of age, but certainly with the vitality of a 40 year-old.  I was amazed to see him in ministry action as he greeted his people, preached behind the pulpit and led the congregation. I found his charisma and zeal for Christ to be very inspiring! Joshua Baptist Church is located outside the greater Fort Worth metropolitan area.

Eggstraordinary Easter

eggstraordinary-logoIMG_4914It is a well-known fact that thousands of Americans will only darken the door of a church on two Sundays-Christmas and Easter. Gospel Light Baptist Church, after prayerful consideration and planning, chose to host the first annual Eggstraordinary Easter in April 2009. In order to ensure a successful weekend, countless hours were spent carefully planning and preparing. We coordinated the event with our city’s Parks & Recreation Department, and solicited sponsorships from area businesses.
