“Don’t complain to yourselves that you can’t go to the mission field! Thank God for bringing the mission field to you!” ― Brother Andrew, God’s Smuggler
Thanksgiving is generally regarded as a North American tradition, however, a few of our members came together to bring Thanksgiving to our home in Singapore. We had a fantastic time celebrating this very special day.
A Look Back for the Year 2013
One year ago, God brought our family to serve the people of Singapore and Southeast Asia. We have met many wonderful people along the way. Throughout the process, God in His divine providence, brought a handful of people with a firm commitment to help establish the Crosslight Baptist Church of Singapore.
In September, we launched our first public service. In October, we began the chartering process to legally register our new church in Singapore. In November, we began our first church Bible study groups. We currently have one men’s group and one ladies’ group. Our small church took up a big offering and collected $1,000 to help with relief efforts caused by the devastation of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines. In December, we distributed 20,000 church invitations. Our members worked hard to conduct our first Christmas narrative. They all did a fantastic job. Susan wrote the script for this narrative. It was entitled, HIStory: My story of His birth.
Please pray for us as we launch into the new year. We are excited about all that God may have in store for our ministry.
Crosslight Baptist Church packed Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes to bless needy children in Cambodia and Singapore. Our church sent out approximately 75 boxes filled with toys and school supplies.
In December, Chantha partnered with a sister church to conduct a three-day camp for about 125 unchurched children. Chantha also preached to 150 teenagers at a four-day youth camp. Approximately 15 young people trusted Christ that week.
One of our faithful ladies who has been attending Crosslight since our launch service received the assurance of her salvation. We are so grateful for her radiant smile and joy that she brings to our young church. She encouraged Susan and me so much. At the end of our conversation, she said, “I know why God brought you to Singapore!”
